Balcony Scene
‘Fairly traditional Queen’s Speech ‘
A fairly traditional Queen’s Speech without major surprises in policy or tone, says the chief of our political René Moerland the second Throne Speech of King Willem-Alexander:
” As expected, left, and Deputy Prime Minister Rutte Asscher king of space on the implications of the plane crash in Ukraine with 196 Dutch victims and other international events such as the war in Iraq and Syria. A little modern king spoke in this context of “smartphone in hand” which enters the world. Intolerance, “hate” in the world were given explicit attention. Like the domestic consequences. Society must resilient and resilient (like the economy) – so far the society that wrapped last year included in the term participative society. Combating unemployment is again declared priority of the government. Care must be ‘toegankelijk’, teaching’ future-oriented ‘. It remains in general terms – the main line was clearly more important than the list of plans, who will sit with the Budget “

“We have seen this summer that opkrabbelende economy is not obvious, because under pressure from developments in an outside world that is safer not become. That was the main message. “
D66 leader Pechtold, whose party is part of the” constructive opposition “that the budget helped mediate, was on Twitter critical:

Rhetorical Speech from the Throne was very innovative. Despite a strong start in which the Netherlands was put down in an international context, followed by another list of policies and officials jargon. That is no longer of this time could be better. “

Who sets the political debate in his hand
Prinsjesdag not only for Budget and Throne Speech running?. It runs also about the question: who puts the political debate has been going on? The fact is that the government has drawn directed towards him after the debacle of last year, writes our political editor Tom-Jan Meeus afternoon in NRC Handelsblad :
In 2013, Budget Day was a feast for the opposition. Rutte II had to watch the NOS on the evening of Prinsjesdag a debate between the then eleven presidents of the parliamentary parties exceptions. The constructive opposition did not exist – so the two leaders of the coalition, Zijlstra (VVD) and Samsom (PvdA), had to defend against nine critical opposition groups. And the Budget Debate had only one week after Budget Day: the Cabinet had days long silence while the opposition did most of the talking. This year everything is different. The general debate already tomorrow so tonight NIS invests no debate, and the Cabinet on TV all the space to pull the initiative. Itself It will also detail try: Prime Minister Rutte let himself be interviewed by EenVandaag, Deputy Prime Asscher (Social Affairs, Labour) and Minister Hennis (Defence, VVD) are in Nieuwsuur then Minister Dijsselbloem (Finance, Labour) in RTL Late Night and Minister Schippers (Health, VVD) in Peacock. The viewer has to make an effort tonight to miss the sound. Government For the opposition, there is only a supporting role to play.

Honor Guard lined up along route Golden Coach
Along the route of the Golden Carriage stand again today hundreds of soldiers drawn. At Noordeinde Palace and Binnenhof stand deposits. Even walking soldiers in the procession.
At the moment the king leaves his palace and at the moment he arrives at the Great Hall, playing music bands of the Marine Corps and the Marine Band the national anthem. Also on Malieveld every minute a salute fired when the carriage is on the way from the palace to the Binnenhof. The shots are fired by the Horse Artillery Corps.
The majority of the military occurs in the so-called service dress. The units at the Binnenhof, at the palace and in the procession are dressed in ceremonial dress. This dress is a reference to the Dutch military military history and is worn during special events.

Budget Day
What to expect from the Queen’s Speech
Koning Willem-Alexander speaks later, around 13:15 pm, his second? Speech from the Throne off. Last year, the king said in his first Queen’s Speech that the impact of the economic crisis are “becoming ever more noticeable.” However, he was also positive by stating that there are “tentative signs” that the end of the crisis is in sight and that prospects for the Netherlands as a result. The king gave politicians praised the tone and content of his first Throne Speech.
It is expected that the king still more optimistic in tone can be this year. Unemployment is falling, the economy is growing again, the purchasing power is stable and the deficit goes down. At this good news on the economic front, the king will certainly focus this afternoon. However, the Queen’s Speech this year will be because of the great international crises that also affect the Netherlands, not only cheerful tone wrote our political editor Mark Kranenburg yesterday NRC Handelsblad (€):
What will be the consequences of a sanction war with Russia, what happens if Putin the gas resolutely close running, how sure keep oil supplies from the Middle East, what will be the consequences of direct military confrontations in Syria or Iraq, which the Netherlands participates? These are things that not only the successor from November to Brussels departing minister Timmermans (Foreign Affairs, Labour) hit, but the entire cabinet.
Also interesting is whether Willem-Alexander in the Queen’s Speech which puts more emphasis on his faith. The president of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN), Karin van den Broeke, said recently in NRC that the king too few publicly expresses his Christian faith and background. “Until now, God is not strongly emerged in his speeches, and that was remarkable,” says Van den Broeke.
