Update The KNMI this morning has a code orange (warning extreme weather) issued for the northern half of the country in connection with sleet. In the provinces of North Holland, Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel and Flevoland is rain that freezes directly by the cold surface, making the roads slippery.
RWS encourages people the north and center of the country to stay home and not go on the road.
On several roads in the north have already happened accidents. The probability of smoothness will disappear at the end of the morning. The surface temperatures are above zero then.
The KNMI gave yesterday a warning for almost the whole country, except the region and in the three southern provinces. Interspersed, but ice is difficult to control, and not always visible.
