MOERDIJK – The 35-year-old Rick Broekmeulen from Moerdijk Sunday morning found in the Zeeland village of Breskens. This confirms the police. The skipper hit early February missing after twisting of the Westerschelde with his barge. That happened when
a suction dredge sand to overcrowding was on the ship.
Passersby found a lifeless body on Sunday morning at the jetty in the Westerschelde. They warned the police. The remains were taken to the side by the water police and KNRM. On the basis of dental records it is determined that the sun is found by Rick body.
Two passengers rescued
Emergency searched for weeks around the Westerschelde the missing boater. The inland waterway vessel capsized Rick east of Breskens. Two other passengers were rescued.
The accident created quite a stir. The emotions in the municipality of Moerdijk ran high. The skipper was so commemorated during a meeting at the school Klaverhoek.
Cause unknown
about the cause of the accident is still unknown. The Inland Shipping Information Agency says that the ship can not be loaded incorrectly. The Safety Board is now therefore consider the accident
