THE HAGUE (Reuters) – Forty houses in the Hague Schilderswijk have been evacuated Saturday night because of a fire in a garage. In the garage are two cars burnt. Many other cars have smoke and soot damage. There are no injuries, according to the fire department.
The fire department received a call from a neighbor who said there was smoke coming out of the meter. On arrival it was found that a fire had broken out in the underground garage. As a precaution, the houses around the garage around evacuated. The fire department got the fire under control.
Mayor Jozias van Aartsen came to the incident, and had a chat with the locals.
