The successor of the failed Fyratrein does not meet expectations. The punctuality of this IC Direct, which runs between Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Breda on high-speed rail, plummets this year, while the number of failed trains rises sharply.

In July fell nearly 9 percent of the trains out, showing figures from De Telegraaf. The number of trains that rode on time, down from 90 percent in January to 84 percent in July. In April, all IC were Direct trains already shut down due to problems with the pantograph.

Travelers pay a surcharge to Direct faster from Amsterdam to Rotterdam or Breda to come up with the IC, but the time savings remains little about when there are so many trains fail. “If there is one train fails you will immediately be a delay of half an hour,” says the spokesperson for travelers club for a Better Public Transport.
