Thousands of people this afternoon at a memorial service in the St. Vitus Church in Hilversum for the victims of the air crash in Ukraine commemorate. Began the service. Around 15:00 More than 1,500 people are in the church. Outside you can find many people who follow the service on screens.

Prior to the memorial gathered thousands of people to walk along in a silent tour of Hilversum. The people left around 14.00 fifteen white doves for fifteen Hilversum who died. Then came another 283 pigeons for the other victims.

Then the men left all dressed in white, white balloons fly away in a park. Then they started to walk to the St. Vitus Church. Flags along the route hung at half-mast. Later in the afternoon there is a memorial service.

The trip came around 14:15 am at the church. As the crowd stood silent minutes. Also present were the hundreds of silent waiting to be let into the church for the memorial service.

“Grief will continue
sorrow for the victims of the air crash in Ukraine will continue. That’s Mayor Pieter Broertjes Hilversum said Sunday. “But togetherness offers support. Even after today, tomorrow and the day after. Our lives we share this grief with each other, “said Brothers during a memorial service in St. Vitus Church in the Gooi place.

Hilversum lost twelve people, three families during the disaster flight MH17 exactly one month ago. Three other victims – a Dutch-American boy and an Australian couple – had ties with the place. A total of 298 occupants of the downed plane were killed, including 196 Dutch

The remains were taken to a barracks in Hilversum, where experts are trying to identify them.
