Enormous damage by fire company De Meern – RTV Utrecht

THE MEERN – The damage caused by the fire company in Goes International Transport in De Meern runs into millions of euros. Later on Monday to be more clear about the precise extent of the devastation; a first rough estimate goes towards the fifteen million.

The building stood three thousand pallets of fruit, with a value of 1,500 euros each. The value of the building itself is, according to owner Ad Goes around ten million.

TWO WARNING
In the early maandagaochtend was sent a second NL-Alert to the warning windows and doors closed to keep. Sunday evening shortly after the outbreak of the fire was already assumed such a warning.

HOURS FIGHTING
The fire broke out Sunday night around 20:30. The fire was under control after several hours, but around 01:00 hours found the firefighters inside the building a fire on the Strijkviertel business. There they are then again spent hours with sweet. There were nearly a hundred firefighters going.

During the fire no dangerous substances released. There are explosions were heard, but, according to the firemen that went to cans of vegetables clapped apart.

Goes International Transport has previously gone bankrupt but was able to make a new start. In 2014 Kivits-Drunen has combined with a number of former Goes’ers carried out a restart. The company was in 2013 one hundred years.

I was quite fast in places. As for me, and one of the Goes family noticed, was that the first half hour but two (!!) were fire .. Only after that came a couple and another fifteen minutes later another 6 or so.

Best RTV Utrecht, I think you are the ramppenzender middle of the Netherlands. But 45 minutes after the first fire alarm, there is only one mention of you! De Meern stood partly already stiff from the smoke. Why is this taking so long with you? When you call came it was already on NOS.NL
