This enables the European Security Transport (ETSC) Monday in a report.

In 2015, 621 people came to less police enforcement in traffic, 9 percent more than in 2014. “creates double damage, “warns ETSC director Antonio Avenoso. “It caught less dangerous drivers, and people feel that the probability of detection is lower. Therefore, the number of fatalities is not going down.”

The number of fines in the Netherlands fell for phoning while driving between 2010 and 2015 with an average of 22 percent per year.

the number of speeding fines increased annually by an average of 4 percent over the past five years, although Dutch do compared with other Europeans, most fines (6 receive 6 million in 2015). The amount of fines for seat belt driving decreased annually by 30 percent.

The decline may be due to the number of traffic fines with higher fines, improved handling, more attention to crime prevention and abolition of quotas by the police, suggests the Foundation for Road Safety Research in the report. The organization recognizes that the Netherlands does not meet the expectations.

EU-wide came last year more than 26,000 people in traffic, the first increase since 2001. Speeding, alcohol, wearing seat belts and call back the control remain the main causes, the researchers of the ETSC
