Liquor store Mitra makes a restart – NU.nl

It was published Friday by The Monk Drinks.

Mitra, which was part of the Dirkzwager Group, now has 120 businesses with about 145 liquor stores. The more than twenty own stores of the bankrupt chain closed earlier.

Since 2015, The Monk Drinks distributor already Mitra. The parties will now go together give direction to the new organization. Mitra is, moreover, not part of Monk Drinks, but will operate in isolation. The entrepreneurs will form their own government.

the Monk Drinks is a family company from Oldenzaal which has existed for almost a hundred years.

Mitra wrong though longer in difficulty, partly due to the weak economy, declining sales of domestic spirits and competition from supermarkets and online providers. The company was declared bankrupt late June.

Also, the parent company of liquor store chain Mitra, Dirkzwager, went bankrupt. Recently, parts of Dirkzwager made a new start. Distillery Cooymans, distiller of gin brand Floryn and Delcave / NCK have been taken over by a group of peers.

The Frisian Beerenburg maker Widow Joustra continues the Frisian company Boomsma Distillery.
