On Friday it was announced that Hans Alders has been appointed National Coordinator of Groningen by the government.
The former Royal Commissioner and Minister will head the new public Groningen. The public is formed by the central government, province of Groningen and the 12 municipalities in the earthquake area and will operate from both Groningen and The Hague.
The organization should increase the security and viability of Groningen and damage settlements and reinforcing buildings better regulate in the earthquake area.
The appointment is effective from June 1, 2015.
Role residents
The National Coordinator will the end of the year a five-year plan for addressing the problems in Groningen. Residents get through local advisory groups a prominent role in drawing up the plan.
