This was reported by De Volkskrant on Monday.

In the new plans of the European Commission given shareholders more say on remuneration policies of companies.

Shareholders let them decide on remuneration policies, the risk of interim bonuses and increases in salaries would decrease, according to examples of such measures in Britain.

Netherlands, however, considers that shareholders currently have plenty of opportunities to discuss the rewards. According to the government’s plans from the European Commission are therefore not appropriate.

Netherlands allows shareholders afterwards talk to the board on the remuneration policy, but they have however no control over them. According to the Netherlands this state of affairs sufficient and add the plans of the European Commission do nothing to the current policy
