ProRail, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment and its own supervisory board poorly informed about the extension of four maintenance contracts. The contracts had a duration of 3.5 years, but the management of ProRail has this last year given a term of ten years. That State Secretary Wilma Mansveld announced today (pdf) to the House.
The contracts were initially already awarded directly and management of the railway infrastructure has ignored in granting its internal warnings, so forward emerged from a study by accountants PWC. With the extension ProRail violates the rules regarding tendering.
Mansveld says that the practice “unacceptable” can. “That’s why action is necessary.”
