The number of people that a non-resuscitate medal bears increases. This reports the AD today. More than twenty thousand Dutch wear the medal because they do not want to walk to go on living after resuscitation. Serious limitations risk
According to the newspaper mainly people over 70 non-resuscitate penny would wear. The image was created in 2007 and was then bought by 1,200 people. Last year there were five thousand and now carry more than twenty thousand people the penny.
The Dutch Society for Voluntary-Life (NVVE) introduced the non-resuscitate medal and speaks of a “mushrooming”. “More and more people think very consciously about the end of their lives. Moreover, the generation that is now 70 years or older, the control over their own life, often in their own hands, “said a spokesman from the AD.
Figures from the association shows that eight out of every hundred people over survive 70 years resuscitation outside a hospital. Half of them should then go on living with disabilities. The figures resuscitation in the hospital are slightly more favorable. Twenty of the hundreds of people over 70 years that survive. Three people hold permanent damage. (AP)
