AMSTERDAM –

The last edition of Sp! ts Thursday rolls off the presses. The free newspaper goes from Friday in a new Metro. But not all of 15 years Sp! Ts disappears. So move columnists Jan Dijkgraaf and James Worthy to Metro, as well as the comics Dating for Geeks and Bugs

Metro will also have many more sports and entertainment news than before, another legacy of Sp ts!. The two newspapers had been working together for some time after Sp! Ts owner Telegraaf Media Group in 2012 Metro over. They did this in order to save costs. Since last summer, the editorial also went along.

Sp! Ts first appeared on June 21, 1999, on the same day that the Metro newspaper for years competed. Both concentrated on passengers using public transport, but were also found in public places such as schools and hospitals. The circulation of Sp! Ts was in the first quarter of this year to 267 869 daily newspapers. The circulation of the new Metro increases considerably, from nearly 364,000 copies (first quarter) to 510,000
