Conductors check Monday, no tickets in protest – breaking News

The chance that your Monday will be in the train is checked, is a lot smaller than normal. Conductors who are members of the FNV don’t check tickets. The trade union performs the action against the introduction of a single conductor on some dubbeldekkertreinen. In total, about 20 trains.

NS will on some biplanes only one conductor, but according to the unions, it is that bad for security and it would be fare evasion in the hand work. This afternoon went to four hours the ultimatum that the union of the NS suggested.

The actions begin Monday morning and run through until the afternoon, let a director Andries van den Berg know. Conductors who participate and, therefore, a special sticker to wear, to share postcards from so that travellers and their support can express. Later on the NS handed over.

‘Unfortunate and unnecessary’

The NS lets us know the action “unfortunate and unnecessary”. The carrier has the union invited for an interview to further explain.

It comes to twenty double-decker buses of an older type that is modernized. “For the overall picture: we have there 255. In the shorter trains we have always a single conductor. At the moment this type is used when a train is lost, then we have to wait for a second person. At that time we can not drive. So we thought: let us have a reconciliation,” says a spokesman.

He warned fare dodgers that there is still a large chance of getting caught. “The gates are just closed and another staff checks it.”
