Elections in Curaçao moved due to hurricane – NOS

The government of Curaçao has parliamentary elections scheduled for tomorrow moved to next week Wednesday. The island is plagued by heavy rainfall due to hurricane Matthew that is in the pipeline. The government decided in consultation with the meteorological office on the island of the elections to move.

Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao layers actually not on the course of the tropical storm that was on its way to Jamaica, Cuba and Haiti. The hurricane, however, changed direction.

According to correspondent Dick Drayer is the hurricane in the koerswisseling in speed decreased, making it longer will rain. “The wind is a problem, but the water is even worse. It rains but little in Curaçao, so there is not built to be a lot of rainwater.”
