Minor secondary student will soon be free in public transport – The Guardian

Mbo-students who are not yet eighteen years of age, from 1 January 2017, free travel with public transport. Already 30 000 students have such a free public transport card requested, reports the ministry of Education, Culture and Science today.

We ask of students that they have a conscious choice of course. To do this they need to be mobile, so that they are also outside their own place of residence, study or an internship. A public transport card should be applied, also for mbo students below the age of eighteen,” said minister Jet Bussemaker.

Applications
The ministry expected that of the 120,000 minor vocational students there are about 100,000 in the coming months, a free public transport card will apply.
