The text of the Catholic Our Father prayer is adjusted. As a result, no longer exist different versions in the Netherlands and Flanders. The texts are aligned, reports news agency Novum.
However, that was not easy. “For decades, it was not possible to arrive at a joint text for both countries,” says the church province. A special committee bent over the new version, in which instance the word ‘temptation’ is replaced with ‘ordeal’.
On the joint version, both the Dutch and Belgian Bishops’ Conferences and the Roman Congregation for Divine Worship approval given. The Dutch Bishops’ Conference is later known as the modified version of the “Our Father” may be used.
The Catholic text differs slightly from the Protestant, which remains unchanged. Read an explanation of the translation

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name
,
your kingdom come, your will be done

as we forgive those who trespass against
:
not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from
evil
