Cabinet approves new financing weighed – Telegraaf.nl

THE HAGUE –

The cabinet Thursday approved the financing of two new motorway sections. They are “missing links in the Dutch road network,” said the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment. It’s the Connection Blankenburg west of Rotterdam and the extension of the A15 to the A12 towards Germany

.

The extended A15 the east of the country is an important connection for particular goods transport to the eastern neighbors. Now the A15 ends still in a pasture in the province of Gelderland Bemmel. The Blankenburg Connection is a tunnel connection to the A20 and the A15 west of Rotterdam connects between Maassluis and Vlaardingen.

To fund the accelerated construction of the two roads is necessary that temporary toll is levied . The Blankenburg Connection costs totaling more than 1.1 billion euros, the extended A15 around 840 million euros. Parliament must still approve it.

It is intended that the Blankenburg Connection between 2022 and 2024 is taken into use. The opening of the extended A15 is provided between 2019 and 2021. For both projects, the toll is 1.18 euros for cars and 7.11 euros for trucks. The toll for the Blankenburg Connection should yield the Treasury 315 million, the extended A15 287 million. If the target returns are in, will void the toll. Both compounds also retain an existing free alternative to traffic during the toll
