Achmea board member Jeroen van Breda Vriesman explains his final position with insurer Achmea down. Achmea reported on its website. Because of the duration of a fraud investigation into chief executive he explains his position with immediate down.

Last September it was announced that in 2007 Achmea tampered with leases of fitness centers. Van Breda Vriesman was then responsible as CEO of healthcare division of Achmea.

The insurer made the thing itself last year with the tax authorities. When the Public Prosecutor (OM) in September launched an investigation, Van Breda Vriesman resigned temporarily down.

The duration of the investigation and the uncertainty about when Van Breda Vriesman could return, his reason for Supervisory Board and himself to end the cooperation. The commissioners say they regret Van Breda Vries Mans departure, but see it as ‘inevitable’.

It is not yet known who will succeed Van Breda Vriesman. Achmea is the largest insurer in the Netherlands with labels like FBTO, Agis, Silver Cross and Avero.
