Large fire at chemical company in Amsterdam, extinguished – NU.nl

traffic is enabled again.

The fire originated around 2: 30 am in the night from Saturday to Sunday after a tank with sewage exploded and caught fire. The cause of the explosion is unknown. The fire department advised residents to have the windows and doors closed to keep. The incident caused no injuries.

the fire was a lot of smoke and the fire department put a police helicopter in to get a good picture of the situation. It is not yet clear whether there is chemical substances are released.

Before it went the fire brigade will assume fire at tanks with a highly flammable substance raged. That substance would not be put out with water, but only by the fire, covering it with dry sand. According to a spokesperson turned out after further investigation that the fire in a room next to it raged. The tanks are warm.

Worst

“Because of the fire at a chemical company rages, we assumed the worst and quickly scaled up,” reported a spokesperson. “There are a chemical company with all sorts of plans of attack ready.”
