WWF: the future of earth is at stake, man is to set – NOS

“The decrease of wild animals in a very high pace. We are in danger of not only orangutans, elephants and rhinos to lose, many more species are under pressure. This loss hits the extension to ourselves, as nature is no longer sufficient food, clean air, and clean water can deliver,” says Kirsten Schuijt, director of the World wildlife Fund in the Netherlands.

The main cause is the man, says Schuijt. “We already knew that long, but that also means that humans are a part of the solution. And there lies the main challenge.”

WWF calls for sustainable food production and green energy. “We can feed the world and provide energy without nature to destroy. It is now a matter of doing it.”
