The shoe store chain House of Shoes has been declared bankrupt, the court in Den Bosch to press reports Reuters. The company has 27 stores in the Netherlands and headquartered in Nieuwkuijk. All branches of the chain are closed, as well as the shop, the company said on Twitter.
Earlier this week showed that retail Schoenenreus, which went bankrupt in 2013 due to declining revenue and competition from online shops, has a deferment of payment. This is often the first step towards bankruptcy. The company then made a restart with fewer branches and laying off about a third of the staff.
