Secretary Fred Teeven (Security and Justice) wants to change the foreign travel ban introduced in late 2011. For him only the light entry bans to prevent others among tourists and businessmen who have their residence time in the Netherlands exceed short, Europe is no longer allowed for two years.
For people who are not actively working on their departure should take just over an entry ban. The heavy-admission, including for foreign nationals who have criminal cases on their conscience, remains intact. 8000 entry bansIn 2012 and 2013, more than 8,000 times a travel ban imposed to foreigners to leave the Netherlands and not allowed to return. It was mostly a light ban (over 7000). The rest was a heavy-admission, which can last up to 20 years. According to a review of the Research and Documentation Centre (WODC) which Secretary Fred Teeven (Security and Justice) sent. To the House today
Ignoring a heavy entry ban or an unwanted statement is a crime for which the judge usually imposes a custodial sentence. That happened in the period studied in about 1,400 cases. It is not clear how long did that punishment, because there were multiple offenses often. Violation of a light-entry ban may result in a fine, but it does relatively little, the research shows.
With the change Teeven wants the entry ban is applied effectively. He points out that the procedure has brought more pressure and more workload for the services in question. He will raise in Brussels. Netherlands complies with its return procedures, the entry bans belong to the European directives, writes the Secretary of State. <- TODO: when all the sites are in common / template system that anchor may take away + change in edt_htmltemplate.js to reageerTag ->
