UN briefed on air crash investigation – NU.nl

The Dutch ambassador Karel van Oosterom writes in a letter to the board that the focus is still on the reduction of human remains.

Van Oosterom further says that researchers are unarmed but the weapons possibly be among the possibilities as the situation requires. He also confirms that the official investigation by Ukraine is transferred to the Netherlands.

The Safety Board, who leads the international investigation into the disaster, gets help from experts from Australia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain and the United States. Also aviation organizations ICAO and EASA are helping. Furthermore, some countries have offered their assistance.
