Upon dismissal of eight members of the Royal Military Police who were involved in the stealing candy from a vending machine, there is arbitrariness. That says lawyer Sebastien Diekstra, assisting two of those expelled in their defense. The theft took place at the Royal Stables in The Hague.

Marechaussees who also have the machine are shaking but did not spoil, are allowed to remain in service, Diekstra confirmed today in a report in The Telegraph. That also applies to onlooking colleagues who do not interfere with or candy ate although they had seen what had happened. He refers to a letter on this subject from the Ministry of Defence.

“So if a Mars bar does not fall out of the machine, but it remains, you come unscathed. An inimitable distinction is made. Attempted theft is simply theft, “said the lawyer. He speaks of “an artificial structure to avoid having to dismiss an entire security department. The standards of integrity of this police organization should obviously give way to an organizational interest “

. Vending Machines

Eight military policemen was been dismissed because they took without paying candy from the vending machine, the military announced in July. They fell by the wayside because a camera was suspended after the operator had reported. Candy came out of the machine by shaking it or tamper with the valve. In total nineteen military policemen emerged during the investigation. Depending on their involvement followed a disciplinary process, with the eight worst cases dismissal
