Dike monitoring in northern Netherlands because of storm – AD.nl

Because of the storm and high water the dikes in Northeast Groningen tonight be monitored. Rijkswaterstaat advised to do so, reports the NIS.



Delfzijl around 02.30 a water level of 3.80 meters above NAP expected. The Noorderzijlvest Water has been closed by the city embankment passage. This happens by default when a water level of 3 meters above sea level or more.

Also dikes are monitored on Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. Wetterskip Friesland expected that water levels of up to 3.25 meters above sea level.

Warning for severe weather
KNMI has issued a warning of dangerous weather because of the wind . Which applies to all coastal provinces.

The storm that raged over the Netherlands yesterday, made in several places in the country for problems: loose roofing sheets, high water, blocked roads and a tree landed on a car. The fire department received more than 750 reports of storm damage. In the coastal areas and the Rotterdam area the nuisance was greatest.
