UTRECHT / NIEUWEGEIN – In the study Gerard T. takes the Public Prosecutor (OM) with three additional declarations that may be linked to the Utrecht serial rapist. That turned out Monday morning during a preparatory meeting on the court in Utrecht.

The number of cases the serial rapist according to the public may have on his conscience, now amounts to twenty. Until now, justice always spoke of six rapes and eleven attempts, which he committed in 1995, 1996 and 2001. The three additional declarations have always been known to the OM. They have so far not brought out, because less certain that they are related to the serial rapist.

During the hearing was further clear that the prosecution on 13 April with the final charge against Gerard T. arriving. So far, the prosecution evidence that he committed three rapes actually. These things are as good as around, the prosecutor reported Monday.

OLD TRACKS
The coming months will use prosecutor to investigate the seventeen other declarations against Utrecht serial rapist. Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) was investigated in recent months all the old tracks in the various cases. These results combined with the interrogation of Gerard T. this should lead to more charges, the prosecution hopes. The expectation is that these can be discussed on April 13.

The prosecution said Monday already know than to include a comprehensive personality test will be asked to T.. Such an investigation takes much time. It is therefore expected that the substantive proceedings against the Utrecht serial rapist for months will be forthcoming.

MANAGEMENT MEETING
On May 28, the court will hold a new trial hearing for the planning and Other research needs of the OM and take the defense. On August 18, follows a preparatory session on the state of affairs.

Gerard T. was not present at the hearing. During the last session in October 2014 would have been promised that the voice of T. would be distorted by the media. This, according to his lawyer Martin Krikke not done by any media, so T. does not feel safe in a public session.

T. stayed still in a prison in Amsterdam . Meanwhile, he was transferred to the PI in Vught. The court decided on Monday that he remains provisionally set.
