The emergency services have beaten high alert this afternoon around 12:30 pm after a tanker truck was hit on the A73 at St Odiliënberg Limburg in a traffic accident

.

The truck is tilted and the tank filled with an unknown hazardous and corrosive substance empties, the police announced. The first images show that it releases a lot of smoke. The A73 was closed in both directions, according to Public Works.

In the accident are definitely two trucks involved. On images show that the tanker with hydrochloric acid was hit from behind. Men in airtight suits walking around the accident. There are many ambulances available on site. There are 18 fire engines called.

Motorists are urged to remain in their cars and turn on the internal air circulation. It is not known how many motorists stuck there.
