After a collision last night between two tankers at the Westerschelde in Zeeland and in the west of North Brabant reports of odors entered. One of the tankers was leaking styrene, a substance which plastics are made of.
The collision was at the Zeeland village of Bath. The other ship was not damaged. There were no injuries. According to a spokeswoman for Zeeland Safety Region (XMT) it is in New Zealand to “some reports. Later reports came in from North Brabant.
According to Public Safety Central and West Brabant (VRMWB) there are more than ten complaints there reported. The complaints came from the area of Woensdrecht, Ossendrecht and Hoogerheide, not far from the scene of the collision.
No dangerous substances
