The Supreme Court is a double murder in Sittard in 2003, which secured the suspect lifelong reconsider. The testimony of the then 9-year-old granddaughter of the murdered couple, which led to the conviction of the accused Olaf H., is now in doubt.

Olaf H. was sentenced to life in 2004 for shooting Car dealer Jo Weak Halen and his wife Ine. During the shooting is also their granddaughter shot in the head. She survives and says more than a year after the incident to remind the shooting. In addition, she points to H. perpetrators. The court found that time her testimony “authentic”. Her testimony, however, is now being questioned by two neuropsychologists. According to experts, the brain damage in the girl so great that they can have no memory of the shooting.

The report of the two experts is part of a revision request that the lawyer H. in 2013 by the Advisory Committee Closed Cases (ACAS) submitted. In total there are nine exonerating facts in the request. ACAS now recommends that a forensic neurologist new research into the testimony of the granddaughter on the basis of its entire medical file. This opinion was adopted by the Advocate General. Should that examination lead to reasonable doubt, then the other exculpatory facts are examined.

On July 12, 2003 the Weak Halen couple is murdered in their own dealer business. Shortly before Olaf H. bought a BMW. Witnesses see H. later left the building. The existence of another visitor has so far not been demonstrated before. H. has always denied having committed the murders
