Thousands of demonstrators on the Malieveld against “xenophobic policy” Trump – NOS

At the Malieveld in The Hague a few thousand people demonstrated against the view that the American president Trump last week promulgated inspired. The initiators wanted to show that a lot of people in the “xenophobic policy” to reject. Also, they wanted the government to encourage to do the same.

The demonstration, with the name Holland Against Hate, started at 16.00 and lasted about an hour and a half. On Facebook had advance 5000 people logged in. Among the speakers were several Members of parliament and director Nazarski of Amnesty International Netherlands.

The meeting was an initiative of Hagenaar Wouter Booij. He works in The Hague for the raadsfractie of the party. According to Booij, there was a large group of concerned Citizens, “that discomfort with the discord that is sown, and ready with the permanent shouting”. Booij holds a short speech.

At the Malieveld were also many leaders from the national politics, among whom Lodewijk Asscher (PvdA), Alexander Pechtold (D66), Jesse Klaver (GroenLinks) and Tunahan Kuzu (Think).
