LONDON – A taste of their own medicine. That gives landlord Frank Nieuwenhof café Wilhelmina Eindhoven municipality. He was twice fined because he customers under 25 years are not asked for their ID. So he sent his two children, aged eighteen and twenty years old, to the New Year’s reception of the municipality. They were just liquor, without being asked was something.
If you donate alcohol then you are obliged to ask people under 25 years to identify themselves. Eindhoven is being monitored by so-called “mystery shoppers”. Do not you, you fall through the basket and you will get a fine of up to 1,500 euros.
Talk
“I want to consult with the municipality about this,” says Van Nieuwenhof. “I have one fine successfully challenged and the other case is ongoing. Colleagues have these checks the sword of Damocles hanging over their heads. It arouses annoyance and I try to expose this fun event.”
It is not a game of ‘town bully’ for Van Nieuwenhof. “No, anyone can make a mistake. Even with such control. It is extra silly when you right away sharply to be fined.”
Reaction town
He already got many responses, but not of the church. “I scattered some appjes of people got into the town, but not the alderman. That I’m going to call for yourself, because I do not frustrate the case.
By Omroep Brabant responds the church does. “We have invited the New Year reception only adults. That does not mean that we are in doubt as municipality also have to check, “said a spokesman.
The municipality sees no reason to react toward the entrepreneur.” We are not there to hand out fines . But because of the introduction of NIX18 we will have to check “
