“Ensuring safety” serial rapist “in PBC ‘- Dutch Newspaper

 
 

 

UTRECHT (Reuters) – The alleged serial rapist Gerard T. Utrecht is in the Pieter Baan Centre (PBC) for his own safety as close to the guards. That his lawyer said Tuesday on a pro-forma hearing at the court in Utrecht. He worries about the safety of his client.

T. sit for a week or two in the PBC for observation. Against it he has strongly opposed, but the court saw no other way to examine his mental state.

In the prison was T. also been threatened, announced his lawyer earlier. In July 2014 the Utrecht alleged serial rapist was arrested. This happened after T. DNA had to resign after being convicted of bicycle theft. Since then he is in custody.

Research Wishes

T.’s lawyer came Tuesday with a long list of research needs, if he wants to include the appointment decisions and Certificates view of the police officers who worked on the case. The Public Prosecution does not see anything in here. The court decided Wednesday on the needs of the defense.

The violent serial rapist Utrecht in 1995 and 1996 active and caused great unrest. After several years of silence, he hit far back in 2001.

Four rapes

T. continued for a total of four rapes. In eighteen other cases, there is insufficient evidence against him, because these allegations were not supported by DNA material from the suspect.

The case is expected to be addressed substantively in January.
