“Trains also fire air Schipholtunnel ‘- Telegraaf.nl

Utrecht –

Despite a fire alarm while leaving trains in the Schiphol tunnel. The new ProRail CEO Pier Eringa wants to investigate whether it can

.

Now the service around the main hub Schiphol spend hours flat as a machinist smell something burning and reports. “Whenever it appears that the fire air is caused by the inhibition of the operator. It has not happened once that there was a real fire. I want to let experts see if we can not do this immediately all trains but to stop, “Eringa says in an exclusive interview with this newspaper.

” Of course, safety is paramount and drivers must have continue to report it but on the other hand, we can not always close the tunnel if there is nothing wrong after all. “

Eringa wants all ICT systems ProRail screening. “There are far too many problems. I just want an MOT for the computer systems. “

Yesterday, the ProRail boss in his own words an off day because for the umpteenth time was no train traffic to and from Schiphol possible. For many air travelers, the railway line to the airport become so unreliable that they never take the train to the airport, it was clear from many comments from readers.

“We serve Schiphol not good,” admits Eringa. “I called director of Jos Nijhuis, Schiphol and also told him that. It really needs better because Schiphol is important. Fortunately Nijhuis understands that we are doing everything possible to improve the situation “

The brakes do not just give off a smell of burning. Why they do not use brakes that do not threaten to fly every time on fire?

I do think that there are too many problems with false positives, and not only Schiphol but also in other tunnels. Even worse is the vast mothering that takes place. People are too afraid of anything and everything. A smoke odor in a tunnel and stop all traffic because of a possible inferno. I agree completely with Mr. Eringa agree that a more rational than emotional manner and with safety issues should be handled.

Give two people work at the tunnel and can check it. According to me 100 times cheaper than any time stop the trains and 1000x better for the image. How hard can it be …

Seems stiff that it can not be monitored by technical detection. Am glad that this is finally going to find out right. How do they do that than in other countries, where many more tunnels?

There are really other ways to detect fire, the nose of a driver who smells something. At every turn driving these bitches do not, it’s not snow, leaves or heat, the tunnel is closed !!! Stop this nonsense !!

So there really is a fire … And once the fire alarm being ignored because it was so often false alarm … Do not understand how you can look at your self in the mirror if there is a time or a fire in the tunnel and trains keep driving
