The man who is suspected of shooting dead a woman Monday in the parking lot of the Two Cities Hospital in Waalwijk is murder or manslaughter accused. This confirms a spokesman for the Public Prosecution Service (OM).
The 37-year old man from Zevenbergen Tuesday volunteered himself to the police after the police had launched an investigation in the neighborhood and had interrogated witnesses.
The woman, who worked as a nurse at a hospital in Waalwijk, had previously notified either threat and reported that her ex would have a firearm. Also four or five other women would have declared it running back to 2013.
The ex-boyfriend filed a report against women, including “in the atmosphere of threat”. The suspect has a criminal record, but not for domestic violence, police said.
The police have acknowledged mistakes made during the investigation into the threats whose 28-year-old woman had reported. She had let the police eight days before her death that the suspect possibly had a firearm in his possession.
Police said at a press conference this week that she regrets that she has not intervened with more urgency. A spokesman: “In hindsight we would have preferred to do a search at the suspect, and we had to make contact with that person.”
