The municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn set consortium Mourik / BSB Staalbouw liable for the crane accident at the Juliana Bridge last week. The combination is thus liable for any damages resulting therefrom.
That said Liesbeth Spies mayor of Alphen aan den Rijn Thursday. The consortium has not provided “what was agreed,” and are therefore at fault.
Logic
The companies that have been involved in the crane accident, sliders the liability claim of the municipality to another. Construction company Mourik, where the municipality had a contract with, the claim lay down at BSB Staalbouw
Although it is filed because the contract is logical that the claim by Mourik, the company, still BSB to pay.: “We have the work contracted to the Juliana Bridge to BSB, says the company.
The Director of BSB said in turn that the placement of the bridge has been outsourced to a subcontractor Peinemann. “From that part of the job is the incident originated. Therefore, we shift the responsibility to Peinemann. “
Good insurance
The crane company Peinemann does not say anything about liability and watch the investigation on the accident . “Fortunately, we have good insurance,” said Ad Cornet Peinemann.
He says that the filing of a liability claim a standard procedure which pro forma runs but research needs to establish where the real responsibility lies .
After the accident, experts were also critical that there would be amateurish proceeded. In the accident with two cranes was a huge mess.
The two cranes were on a floating platform and tried to move a bridge part of the Juliana Bridge. The two cranes and bridge portion fell on houses and shops in the Hooftstraat. There were no deaths and serious injuries
