Schiphol must do noise calculations for expansion – NU.nl

The fact that the Commission considers the environmentally impact assessment (EIA) in a report published Thursday.

In order to grow further, Schiphol will be the starter next time and landing procedures reset. New routes should save fuel and reduce noise. The airport can then use some of that recorded sound profits to expand.

But the committee EIA, an independent consultant of the government concludes that Schiphol must improve his calculations. The proposed take-off and landing procedures provide less environmental and noise profit than expected.

Residents have long questioned the calculation wielding Schiphol. State Secretary Sharon Dijksma (Infrastructure and Environment) gave the MER mission to judge the accuracy of the calculations.

Schiphol must now make a better assessment of new calculations of environmental and noise gain. Only then can the Secretary of State may decide on further growth of the airport
