This year not previously been as cold as in the night from Saturday to Sunday. For the first time this winter, there was, as they say, moderate frost. Reported weather bureau Weather Plaza.
In the Brabant Gilze-Rijen was the coldest: it was there six degrees below 0. That is equaling the record of this year. That record was set on 26 January in Eelde.
Wind felt much colder, the feeling temperature was about 12 degrees below zero.
Today it is sunny and cloudless continues, but that it remains cold. In De Bilt is the mercury may not be the whole day above zero. If that happens, today is the first ijsdag of 2014. 2013 there were 13 days when it froze from midnight to midnight in De Bilt.
In other places it can go night thaw. Rain is predicted, but that can freeze on the cold ground, which means that it is possible to smooth on the roads.
