Large fire at petting Boskoop – De Gelderlander

BOSKOOP (Reuters) – Tuesday night has a large fire raged in a stall at a petting zoo in Boskoop. Although according to a spokesman for the fire brigade vast majority of animals are saved, it is possible that some rabbits, guinea pigs and pigeons did not survive the fire. There are no people injured.

The larger livestock such as goats and pot-bellied pigs, it could be removed in time from the burning barn in South Holland. When the fire was extinguished turned out to be still living animals inside.

From the barn is little left. The thatched roof has been completely destroyed. There are no high concentrations measured hazardous substances. Well to be evacuated a nearby sports hall because of the smoke development.

The Telegraph reports that the children came earlier this year in the news because the vandals had put fences open. Some animals know when to escape.
