DNA son leads to identification with drought disaster killed mother – Focus on News

From the DNA relationship testing that Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) carries out for the police, shows that a family relationship between any of the relatives and one of the unidentified victims. The unidentified victim is a woman from Kruiningen that came to life during the disaster at the age of 41.

She was buried as unknown in Yerseke (municipality Reimerswaal). In 2013, the police exhumed her body to conduct DNA material. The survivor, a 77-year-old man from Wezep whose mother had been missing since the flood, its DNA material for relationship testing issued to the police.
