Update The area of the houseboat in Wormer this morning got damaged in an explosion, has again declared safe. Local residents who had to leave their homes, may gradually return home. The houseboat was an ‘improvised’ explosive found, reports a police spokeswoman said. The bomb blast is brought to a safe place.
It is explosive found by members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
The explosion tonight and subsequent fire A man was killed and became a woman seriously injured. It follows a police spokeswoman presumably to the residents. The man’s body is in connection with the investigation still on the quay of the Veerdijk along the houseboat moored.
Shipping lay still
The houseboat is located Zaan along Veerdijk. The area was deposed and the shipping was halted on the Zaan. An apartment is vacated. The approximately twelve residents are collected at the local fire station.
The houseboat, named Zeus, is a former freighter. It makes since the explosion listed.
