The Rotterdam police tonight shot an armed man, police reported. The man was taken to hospital. While a bystander was lightly wounded.
Police received overnight several reports about a man who walked with a firearm on the Rotterdam Nieuwe Binnenweg. There, the officers found a homeless man who threatened another man in a doorway with a gun. The man would not drop his gun, which the police shot him.
After arrest, the 25-year-old man by ambulance to the hospital. The 31-year-old man he threatened, also suffered a gunshot wound to the action. It is still being investigated by whose bullets he was shot. The man could after treatment in the hospital in the evening to go home.
The Department will investigate the matter, as is customary when officers use their service weapon
