This reports the AD based on calculations of transport insurer TVM.
Last week calculated shippers organization EVO all traders and manufacturers are about half a million loss per day due to problems with refugees in the Channel Tunnel.
TVM also looks at the problems with the roadblocks in Europe and assess the damage to the sector with a million euros a day so still higher. EVO also would come with new and more extensive calculations are made to such a loss.
Bankruptcies
TVM even warns of possible bankruptcies in the sector. Many businesses would be able to keep head barely above water because of the difficult economic conditions. The problems on the roads would for those companies the “kiss of death” could mean, says a spokesperson for TVM.
Emergency
The problems posed by the situation in Calais and roadblocks for transporters, are underestimated by the industry. The conveyors are therefore angry at the government, which according to them “little sense of urgency.”
According to the problems would lie not only in transport, but also to the charges that are no longer conducted . These are sometimes rejected if, for example refugees have been sitting in the back of a truck.
Secretary of State Dijksma announced to want to discuss the problems in September in Europe.
