An international tribunal is the best option still tried to get the perpetrators of the disaster flight MH17. That set at least two sources within the Dutch government tonight told Reuters. Netherlands would with the other countries in the investigation team welcomes the creation of such a tribunal.
According to two sources Netherlands thinks about a tribunal in the style of a UN court, such as happened at the trial after the attack on a plane in Lockerbie, Scotland. A high official in the Dutch government says about against the news agency:
“We expect that this offers the best potential for cooperation of all countries concerned.”
The Ministry will not comment
More than eleven months after the plane crash in the east of Ukraine are the chances of finding the perpetrators are still small. An international tribunal, supported by other relevant Western countries, according to the sources also could encourage Russia to cooperate with the prosecution.
