New drug gives half the migraine
A new drug could reduce the number of migraine attacks by 50 percent. This is shown by two small American studies. 
The LUMC in Leiden goes after the summer testing the new drug on 600 patients. It reports the AD Friday. More than 1 million Dutch people suffer from severe migraines and have at least two attacks per month. The new drug would be a godsend.
Injections
This is the new anti-CGRP Means. American research showed that monthly injections can ensure that people with severe migraine half have fewer attacks. Patients with milder forms of migraines take medications as a feel an attack coming. However, people with severe migraines swallow tablets daily. This will not achieve the results that can possibly achieve the new injections, says neurologist Michel Ferrari of Leiden University Medical Center
Ferrari:. “CGRP is a protein that causes cranial nerves perceive headache. The new funds enable that protein and thus prevent the brain registers pain. Moreover, it works against cluster headache, where we had virtually no cure for up to now. “A major advantage of this new drug is that it comes to monthly injections rather than daily pills.
