Man with gun penetrates editorial NOS within – RTV Utrecht

HILVERSUM – The police Thursday in a studio of the NIS at the Media Park in Hilversum an armed student overpowered Pijnacker. He demanded airtime. The broadcast of the NOS News 20 hours was interrupted. Immediately after the incident was given wide alarm and approximately eighty NIS employees had left the building.

According to NIS reporter Martijn Bink, the man just before the news of 20 hours in the newsroom. The man, Tarik Z, is, according to Bink directed to a studio that was not in use. While Bink, an engineer and a guard walked with him to the studio, he said he is a hacker collective. After that, by the editors in The Hague, with whom Bink was in contact, called the police.

While Z in an unused studio was distracted, police drove to the NOS editors. NIS staff in The Hague could watch and saw several officers overpowered the man with gun drawn. He threw the gun away, gave himself immediately and had to lie on his stomach from the police. “At every suspicious movement is immediately shot,” said one of the officers against the 19-year-old intruder.

PREPARED
Chief Prosecutor Johan Bac said in a press conference a few hours after the incident, that Tarik Z. is suspected of unlawful detention, illegal possession of arms and threats. Mayor Peter Brothers said the police were prepared for an incident like this. The security of the NIS, according to him inadequate, although he praised the NIS guard, those coolly negotiated and the man was able to deceive.

The 19-year-old is not on the lists with potential terrorists, had no criminal record or history. His action would have nothing to do with radical Islam. Bac wanted nothing further to say about the suspect. A fellow student of Z. told NOS that he studied chemistry at TU Delft and Leiden. He is, according to the fellow student a regular guy who does not really stood out.

According to Minister Opstelten it appears to be a one-man operation. “But the case is still under investigation.” The man’s weapon is fake, according to the police. When the house of Tarik Z. Pijnacker is Thursday done great research and the police seized a car.

LETTER
Heart Netherlands has a letter held that the intruder to staff NOS would have given. “When you read this, do not panic,” the letter begins. “I’m heavily armed. If you cooperate just neat, then you will get hurt.” In the letter, the man demands that he can take over the broadcast of the NOS News.

As soon as the man with the gun control over the broadcast would have it, he wanted the live presenter would read a statement. Then did the intruder himself speak. It is not clear what he wanted to say, but it would have to do with the role of intelligence in society.

When the man came out Bink has fascinated him a few questions. “Whether he was sent by an organization, whether he had terrorist motives, he said no, he also wanted to injure people or kill..”
