Unveiling of monument to 'crack levee' Morning – Telegraaf.nl

Gelderland village Morning is Saturday unveiled a monument that commemorates the evacuation of the river in 1995. Approximately 250,000 residents of the area and one million cattle then had to leave the field

The stabbing reminder will be placed on the spot where time due of extreme flood dike in Ochten it threatened to collapse. That was the immediate cause for one of the largest evacuations from the recent Dutch history. The monument will be unveiled by Sanne van Lent who was born during the evacuation and is an initiative of the village council of trips, or the Village Table Morning.

The Rivers commemorates the coming weeks the exciting period, exactly 20 years ago . Thus there are boat tours, exhibitions, music and theater will be screened a movie
